Wheat is predominantly cultivated in a double-crop system alongside soybeans in Illinois. The primary objective is to develop wheat varieties that optimize the profitability of this double-crop system, thereby benefiting growers economically and bolstering the long-term sustainability of agriculture in the region.

Stipend Amount
Currently, Masters students receive a monthly stipend of $2,453.33, while PhD students receive $2,649.60. Additionally, they will receive health insurance and a stipend.

Selection Criteria
Applicants with prior experience in field research programs or applied breeding programs will be preferred. In addition, proficiency in statistical programming and/or data analysis is good for selection process. The successful completion of a Masters degree is strongly preferred for those who are looking for PhD degree.
